A Narration Attributed to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Sariyah, the Mountain!" — A Theological Study

The research is entitled: The Tradition of Omar – R.A.:- O' mountain Walker, a doctrinal study aiming at: clarifying the ruling on this tradition. It is an authentic narration, authenticated by a group of early and late scholars, which validates the belief of Ahl Al-Sunnah about the dignity of saints and the virtues of Omar (R.A.). The stand of Ahl Al-Sunnah regarding this narration and other sects. I followed an inductive and analytical approach to the above tradition. The Ash'aris and Sufis have also proven the dignities of the saints, but different from that of Ahl Sunnah. As they believe that all that were permissible for a prophet by the verses, is also permissible for a saint by the dignities, without differentiating between the verses and dignities unless the verse was associated by a challenge, and that is their stand here. The Mu'tazilites, denied supernatural customs, excepting the miracles of the prophets, including: the dignities of the saints, hence this dignity of Omar (R.A.) wasn’t reported from them. Some Rafidites, challenge the validity of this narration, and others make it an argument for the dignity of their assumed imams, and some attribute this dignity to Ali (R.A.)!! The follower of the "New Age" movement, and the writers influenced by them, inferred this tradition and the dignity that it validate their believe which they call (Telepathy).
