This research addresses issues related to the final recitation of the Holy Quran between Gabriel and the Prophet Muhammad every Ramadan. The Quran was recited twice during the last Ramadan of the Prophet’s life. The research aims to clarify whether the final recitation was specifically subject to abrogation or change, explore the relationship between the copies of the Quran compiled during Uthman’s time and this final recitation, and examine the presence of some Companions at this recitation and its significance. It also considers the implications of addressing these issues and whether they align with or contradict established principles. The research problem lies in two aspects: the lack of conclusive evidence limiting knowledge of the abrogated verses during the final recitation to a few Companions, and the absence of any mention of the final recitation or its witnesses before Abu Bakr and Umar in the Bakri compilation, or before Uthman in the Uthmanic compilation, despite their involvement in other matters. This study employs inductive and analytical-critical methodologies. Its main findings are that the Quran’s recitation in Ramadan was not specifically subject to abrogation or change, and that the Uthmanic compilation was based on selection from the seven modes of recitation. The presentation of the Quran every Ramadan between Gabriel and the Prophet has many benefits, none related to its transmission. Recommendations include emphasizing proper contextualization, examining evidence, and clarifying established implications.
