Abstract
This research included a study of technical and scientific indexes for sixty books of interpretation. It indicated these indexes, studied them descriptively, and mentioned their types, forms, and approaches. It also pointed out some suggestions and observations regarding indexing and indexes. The nature of the research necessitated the use of some research methods, most notably the descriptive approach. It was used for studying and describing the indexes of books of interpretation. The research concluded with many results. Showing the books of interpretation’s need for indexing is one of the results since they cover various subjects in science and arts including issues of interpretation, belief, Hadith, jurisprudence, language, and others. Thus, books of interpretation may not be comparable to any other religious books in terms of their subjects’ diversity. Furthermore, the results showed that books of interpretation need external indexes. They are the indexes and catalogs that are printed and published independently of the books. They contain types of indexes that are not found in the investigation indexes.
