Dr. Naseem Abdullah Alotaibi, an assistaant professor of English Literature, presented a paper on Saturday March 27, 2021, entitled “Refashioning the 'Other' in George Sale’s Translation of the Quran (1734)” in a conference organised by the College of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at University of Edinburgh, United Kingdom (26-29 March).
The paper reviews the different representations of Islam in George Sale’s translation of the Quran as well as the fluctuating images of its prophet, paying particular attention to the duality of images represented of the prophet and the Quran in the author's 'Preface to the Reader.'
