The College of Applied Sciences, represented by the Department of Biology, participated in activating the Saudi Environment Week 2021 A.C. The activities started on Sunday, 21 March 2021 A.C., and will continue until 27 March 2021 A.C. under the slogan: “The Environment Is for Us and Our Coming Generations”.

The event was launched by His Excellency the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Prof. Wael Al-Amoudi, at his office on Thursday morning, 25 March, in the presence of his Excellency the Head of the Department of Biology, Dr. Muhammad Al-Buqami. After that, the students implemented the guidance program on the campus to educate all university employees, students, and academic and administrative staff about the danger of plastic bags to the environment. The aims of the event are as follows:

• Explaining environmentally-safe alternatives to plastic bags, such as paper bags and bags made of environment-friendly materials.
• Clarifying the importance of protecting and preserving the environment and natural resources because of their pivotal role in achieving sustainable development, improving the well-being of the community, and contributing to achieve food security and quality of life. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
