President of Umm Al-Qura university Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas headed on Sunday Jumada Al-Thani 20, 1438 H, meeting of the standing committee for university senior management at his office in the university campus in Abdyia. 

The committee reviewed latest arrangements for the ceremony of conferring honorary doctorate on the ex- Minister of Education Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al-Angari,  and all issues needed to make the ceremony a success.

  
During the meeting, the committee headed by the UQU President and includes UQU Vice Presidents in its membership approved participation of Vice Deans of Branches of University Studies for Girls as permanent members in the committee. The committee also activated decision of the advisory commission stipulating participation of a number of female faculty members -to be nominated according to specific criteria- in the meetings of the advisory commission of the university. Additionally, the committee approved creating educational services department reporting directly to the UQU Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs according to the organizational structure proposed by the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs. The committee also discussed various other topics on the meeting's agenda.  

 
Concluding the meeting, Dr. Assas appreciated the support offered and still to the university by the wise leadership and the close follow up of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa, meanwhile lauding efforts exerted by UQU Vice Presidents to upgrade educational system of the university so as for it to reach the merited status.
