The President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, signed the contract of accreditation concerning the College of Applied Medical Sciences and the Department of Islamic Architecture at the College of Engineering. The contract was signed with Dr. Iring Wasser, Chief Executive Officer of the Accreditation Agency Specialised in Accrediting Degree Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, the Natural Sciences and Mathematics (ASIIN). The event was attended by Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, the Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service and the acting UQU Vice-President for Business & Innovation. The attendees of the event, which was held at Dr. Assas’ office in the University City in Abediyah, also included Dr. Muhammad Jaafar Thabit (Dean of University Development and Quality), Dr. Hamza Ghalman (Dean of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture), as well as Dr. Walid Altaf, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences.
It is known that the Department of Chemistry is considered one of the academic departments that offer a study program: (i.e. “chemistry for accreditation”) according to ASIIN.
