The Dean of College of Applied Medical Science Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Ashshi, and the Director of Hira General Hospital, Dr. Waleed bin Abdulhalim Mohammed Hussein inaugurated the activities and exhibition of the “World Therapeutic Nutrition Day), organized in Hira General Hospital on Thursday 10\06\1438 A.H. correspondent to 09\03\2017 A.D.
The exhibition featured: (the Role of Nutritionists in Cases of Mal-Nutrition - Nutrition in Surgery Department – IV and Tube Feeding – Functional Nutrition Products – Products and Appliances used in Weight Loss – the Nutrition Pyramid – Nutrition of Pregnant and Lactating Women – Child Nutrition – Nutritional Situation Assessment), in addition to awareness lectures on the basics and role of therapeutic nutritionist in hospitals.
The exhibition was supported by head of the Department of Clinical Nutrition Dr. Haifaa H. Hejazi, head of the Department of Nutrition at Hira General Hospital Samira bint Samir Al-Gebali, as well as all the hospital’s clinical nutritionists.
Presentations were made by female graduates and students of the Department of Clinical Nutrition at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU).
The event was graced with the presence of Vice-Dean for Hospitals Affairs Dr. Maher Alandijani and Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ayman Al-Sayegh.
Dr. Islam Ahmed Mahmoud Haider, Dr. Siham EL-Sayed Qutub Zahran, Dr. Doaa Raafat Nagm and Dr. Hanein Youssef Wazzan joined the training team for hospital’s female students.
Dr. Naser Ahmed El-Sawi of the Laboratory Medicine Department also participated in the event.
This event falls within the scope of activities organized by the Department of Clinical Nutrition during the 1437/1438 A.H. academic year.
