On Wednesday, 18 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1442 A.H., at 8 p.m., the Department of Mathematics at Al-Leith University College, under the supervision of Dr. Saadia Al-Jadani and via the WebEx platform, held a scientific meeting with the students of the department under the title:

"Mini Local Conference: Mathematics and Statistics Best Presentation"

A number of students of the fifth and seventh levels attended and participated in the meeting. The meeting began with a wonderful introductory presentation on the Pascal triangle: its definition, features and uses. The presentation also included mathematical applications that the attendees benefited from in applying the information given in the presentation. This was followed by two valuable presentations on statistics: its history, types, functions and applications. Some statistical problems were addressed during the presentation, and prizes were distributed to competitors. Next came a presentation entitled: "Mathematics and the Muslims". The attendees benefited from the knowledge of the history of mathematics and the role of Muslims in developing, using and exporting it to the outside world.

The meeting ended with a presentation on linear programming and methods for solving some linear models, as well as their advantages and practical applications. Some practical examples were also addressed during the presentation to learn ways to solve a standard model.
