Dr. Borhamin Named Dean of Hajj & Umrah Researches Institute

President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas has named Dr. Sami bin Yasin Borhamin as Dean of the Institute of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Hajj and Umrah Researches.

Advisor to UQU President, Mr. Essam bin Hassan Marqoushi said that Dr. Assas' decision is part of the university's efforts to achieve goals of the comprehensive development and to bolster progress to achieve objectives, vision and mission in a bid to lead the field with unique programs and activities under the umbrella of the Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Assas asked Allah to help Dr. Borhamin would succeed in meeting the requirements of the new post and to play role in achieving the UQU's objectives.

Dr. Borhamin has been working as Secretary General of the Makkah Region Development Authority from 1422H until end of his UQU's mandate. He played a role with the working team in setting a 1450H plan for comprehensive development. Under this scheme, mega projects are expected to be carried out while many other locations would be upgraded to provide the best means of comfort to pilgrims.

Dr. Borhamin got his Bachelor of Architecture from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 1404H. He got a Master's Degree in Construction Engineering in 1407 and the Ph.D. in Engineering, Facility Management and Services from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland, UK in 1418.
