Under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Dean of the University College in Al-Leith, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Maliki, and in the presence of the academic members of the Department of Mathematics, the department organized the first introductory meeting on Monday, 26 Muharram 1442 A.H., corresponding to 14 Sep. 2020 A.C., for the new students for the academic year 1442 A.H. The event was carried out remotely via the electronic platform WebEx.

The meeting began with a welcoming speech from the supervisor of the Department of Mathematics, His Excellency Dr. Ali Ibrahim Al-Hasani, in which he congratulated the male and female students for the new academic year and wished them all success. He then proceeded to offer an overview about the department and its foundation, and presented an introduction about the academic members. The meeting then reviewed some aspects of the students' academic affairs, and highlighted the main topics of the study plan. It also pointed out the importance of student advising and its role in preparing, assisting, and following up the progress of students during their academic career.

After this, the Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Saadiyah Muhammad Al-Jadaani, spoke about the most prominent academic regulations of Umm Al-Qura University, calling on the students to observe them and adhere to them. She also stressed the keenness of the college's leadership to diversify and repeat such meetings and open communication channels with the students in order to listen to their remarks and various queries. The meeting ended with some free time devoted to the students' questions. Finally, thanks were addressed to all those who attended.
