His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, yesterday, Sunday, at his office, honored the Members of the Permanent Higher Committee for Curricula and Study Plans at the university in return for the efforts they exerted during the academic year 1441 A.H. The event was attended by the supervisor of the Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmad Babalghaith.
He praised the role of the committee members and their efforts in approving the curricula and study plans at the university. Moreover, he reiterated the importance of developing the curricula in accordance with the strategic objectives developed by the university to achieve knowledge excellence, of reformulating the academic advising mechanisms in such a manner which provides the student an opportunity to have a university education, in line with international scientific standards, and of increasing the quality of the academic outcome in the university.
In this regard, Dr. Babalghaith said the committee is concerned with providing scientific consultation, reports and proposals to develop curricula and study plans which meet standards of quality and academic accreditation with regard to the work requirements, and with determining the colleges’ need of academic staff members. This is in addition to updating the procedure guide for the curricula.
