President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), his excellency Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas sponsored the celebration organized by the Consulting Research and Studies Institute on Thursday Jumada Al-Oula 26, 1438 H at King Abdul-Aziz Historical Hall at the university campus in Abdiya to review institute's achievements and honor parties and persons contributed to these achievements. The celebration was attended by the UQU Vice Presidents, Deans of the Colleges, Institutes, and Deanships.  


After initiating the celebration with Quranic recitation, the Dean of Consulting Research and Studies Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Shaari delivered an address saying that the institute is working to provide consulting studies, services and certified professional training in line with the qualitative leap currently witnessed in the Kingdom and in such manner which achieves the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 at a high quality by means of harnessing the university's human, physical and cognitive potentials and building strategic partnerships at the local and international levels based on the strategic initiatives launched by the institute as a pioneering model in transformation of knowledge and technologies so as to strengthen the university's contribution in creating thriving economy, robust society and ambitious institutions.

To that end, he added, the Institute has signed 165 contracts of consulting studies and services with several government ministries and agencies as well as the private sector including; full-time and part-time consultancies, consultancy studies, financial and administrative studies and think tank offices. He went on to add that the think tank offices have reached 150 up to the end of 1438 H in engineering, technology, information, sharia, law, economic, financial, administrative, educational, humanitraian, medical and health fields. The number of the consultants, he added, has reached 323 including 304 part timers and 19 under request. 


Further, he said the Institute has established three specialized training units in all fields and the work is underway to establish more similar units, revealing that they have provided training for 8729 trainees through  173 training courses.


He said the honoring of the Institutes to the parties and persons contributed to its achievements comes as a sign of gratitude and appreciation to their role, extending his thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas for his continuous support to all the programs and activities of the Institute. He also lauded the efforts of the former and current UQU Vice Presidents for Business and Innovation.


After that, a documentary film showing the achievements made and the programs implemented during the last year was displayed, followed by a poem delivered by the affiliates of the institute, then a  visual presentation.

 
For his part, the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas addressed the audience on this occasion saying that the Consulting Research and Studies Institute is one of the arms the university depends upon to achieve its strategy in creating effective partnerships with the public and private sectors at the local and international levels. He explained that the fruits materialized in the last year's achievements reflect the institute's commitment to the objectives behind its establishment within its endeavors to accomplish leadership and excellence in the field of innovation and progress leading to desired goals contained in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 which were set to serve the country and its citizens. He lauded the efforts exerted and still by those in charge of the institute since its establishment until now. 


At the conclusion of the celebration, the parties and persons involved in the institute's achievements since its establishment were honored.
