His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, today honored the academic staff members for their academic promotions during the academic year 1441 A.H. The event which was organized by the Academic Council took place at King Abduaziz Support Hall, in the presence of His Excellence the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini.

The UQU President congratulated the promoted academic staff members for their academic role in enriching the scientific and knowledge content in the university, and their excellence in this field. He viewed these promotions as an opportunity for them to continue moving towards new horizons and to expand and focus on their research fields to serve their nation and community.

He stressed the importance of scientific research and its role in upgrading peoples and nations. He indicated that the ranking of the universities depends on their research and scientific outputs and their contribution to the development of sciences to serve the different human communities.

On his part, Prof. Al-Resini said the university has made great strides in the field of scientific research due to the keenness and attention given by the university to its academic staff members. He indicated that during this year, the UQU Vice Presidency for Postgraduate Studies held 36 scientific sessions which tackled 1192 research topics, through which 197 academic staff members obtained their scientific promotions and 391 of them were presented an excellence allowance award. He then congratulated everyone for their promotions and for obtaining these awards.
