The Department of Clinical Nutrition at the College of Applied Medical Sciences held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 a scientific meeting for fourth year students at Alnoor Specialist Hospital.

The event was held under the auspices of Dean of College of Applied Medical Sciences Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Ashshi, Vice-Dean for Hospital Affairs Dr. Maher Alandejani and Head of the Clinical Nutrition Department Dr. Hayfaa H. Hejazy.

It was attended by Professor Mustafa H. Asfar, Dr. Feras S. Al Auza, Dr. Mohamed A. Al Madbouly, Dr. Al Sayed H. Bakr and Dr. Abdullah S. Jazar. The meeting was follow up by Dr. Hassan M. Boukhary and Dr. Sama S. Al Sadaa.

The meeting was held to acquaint students about training at hospital and to sharpen their skills at the Department of Clinical Nutrition.

It included activities to train students at hospitals, training mechanisms, techniques for dealing with hospital workers and patients, means to check patient reports taking privacy into account and how to fill out training booklets and to apply theories learned at the department.

This is meant to help students in keeping practice for better qualification. The students were briefed about these goals during a lecture delivered by Assistant Professor Al Sayed H. Bakr. 

The discussion covered training provided for the final year students and mechanism adopted for this stage of education in addition to the duration and distribution of students among hospitals located in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif and private centers. During a lecture delivered by Associate Professor Feras S. Al Auza, the students were briefed about starting and ending dates of the final year, rules regulating leaves, vacations and transfer from one hospital to another.

Dean of the college, vice-dean and head of the Clinical Nutrition Department hailed efforts exerted for organization of the meeting. They extended thanks to Alnoor Specialist Hospital wishing more cooperation between the hospital and the college in future.
