The Deanship of Scientific Research, represented by Al-Muallim Muhammad bin Laden Chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, held a virtual meeting with King Khalid Charity Foundation in the presence of Her Highness Princess Nouf bint Muhammad Al Saud, CEO of the foundation, to discuss means of joint cooperation in the field of social entrepreneurship.
At the beginning of the meeting, Her Highness Princess Nouf delivered a speech in which she praised the achievements made by Al-Muallim Muhammad bin Laden Chair for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and expressed her happiness in the research and programs tailored to support the youth of our country. She also welcomed the cooperation with the research chair in providing programs with a sustainable social impact, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 and the strategic plan of the foundation.
On his part, His Excellency the Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Muhammad bin Shukri Al-Soufi, extended his thanks to Princess Nouf for her great interest in the work of the research chair in particular, and the work of the UQU Deanship of Scientific Research in general. He appreciated the keenness of Her Highness in holding the meeting under the current circumstances. He then briefed the meeting on the work of the Deanship of Scientific Research and its strategic objectives for the coming stage, expressing his happiness for the opening of communication channels with the foundation. Next, the Vice Dean of Scientific Research for Research Chairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, made a presentation about the research chairs in the university and their role in serving the community. He then explained the cooperation mechanism between the academic chairs and the support bodies.
Dr. Mahmoud Falata, the Chair’s Professor, delivered a detailed presentation on the research chair's mission and objectives and the various research activities the chair has carried out, supported and overseen, referring to several specific achievements made by the chair. He reviewed its future plan and the various programs the chair will hold in the coming period, in addition to the common goals between the research chair and King Khalid Charity Foundation.
It should be noted here that Al-Muallim Muhammad bin Laden Chair has published several research papers in prestigious and international scientific journals. The research chair has also organized many scientific meetings and symposiums in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, in addition to many competitions and training courses which focused on providing the needed support for the male and female university students to help them establish their start-up companies. Moreover, the chair has previously been honored by His Royal Highness Prince Mashaal bin Majid bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah, and the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority.
The meeting was attended by a group of dignitaries from King Khalid Charity Foundation: Ms. Elham Al-Sanee, the Director of the Capacity Building Program, Ms. Nadeen Hasanain, the Director of the Social Investment Program, and Mr. Omar Hawsawi, the Director of Marketing and Institutional Communication at the foundation.
