Under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Suhail Al-Harbi, Dean of Jamoum University College, the Biology Department in Jamoum, under the chairmanship of His Excellency Dr. Samir bin Hasan Muhammad Qari, held a specialized scientific lecture on the 'human microbiome and its applications'. The lecture was presented by Prof. Sherif Idris, Professor of Genetics and Molecular Biology at King Abdulaziz University and researcher in Princess Al-Jawhara Al-lbrahim Center for Molecular Medicine, Genetics, and Inherited Disorders.

The lecture dealt with different themes, including: an introduction on the microbiome, and how to make use of the recent research which discussed this scientific aspect. The lecture was attended by a large number of the academic staff members in the college as well as graduate students of both sections of the department and some scientific departments inside and outside the college.

The lecture was launched on Thursday, 19 Jumada Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., with an opening speech by the Head of the Department in which he expressed his deep thanks and appreciation to the college deanship. He pointed out that the momentum and scientific and research activity witnessed by the college come as a result of the support of His Excellency the Dean of the College towards the advancement of this scientific edifice.
