Under the auspices of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith, His Excellency Dr. Tariq bin Abdullah Ahmad Zhafar, the Department of Public Health at the College of Health Sciences in Al-Leith held a workshop on antibiotics, at the male section. The workshop was held on Wednesday, 23 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., and was presented by a delegation of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Al-Leith, led by His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Rahman Ahmad Hamad, along with the participation of Dr. Ibrahim Shamsu Nasir, and His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Hamid Ali Al-Za`qan. The event was held within the World Antibiotics Awareness Week, implemented by the Office of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Al-Leith.

The workshop was attended by a great number of students, faculty members, and administrators. It included a unique presentation and facts about antibiotics, as well as guidelines on their use and the resistance of microorganisms to them. The workshop was also attended by Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Fouad, the Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology, who gave a presentation on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance.

The event gained great interest from the audience.

Moreover, a similar workshop was held in the female section on Tuesday, 22 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., amid a large presence of female students, faculty members, and administrators. The event received great interaction and interest.

At the end of the workshop, His Excellency the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Dr. Tariq Zhafar, honored the delegation of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in Al-Leith, and awarded them certificates of appreciation. Furthermore, all attendees from the male and female sections were also given certificates of appreciation.
