The new university system is a pioneering step and turning point in the history of Saudi universities that is in harmony with the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030, especially in the fields of scientific research, development, and innovation. The new system fosters the adoption of regulations governing the work of academic chairs and research centers in support of prestigious scientific research in the fields of development, innovation, and creativity.

Moreover, the system also fosters research potential such as authoring, translation, development, innovation, creativity, and publishing, which will raise the Saudi universities in the prestigious international rankings. It supports scientific partnerships and research strategies based on local and international cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding between the UQU research centers and the relevant centers and institutions to realize the country's ambitions objectives regarding applied research based on common needs.

The new system was directed to approve the rules for the issuance of scientific journals to establish the foundation of organized work according to clear procedures adopted by the University Affairs Council and the Board of Trustees of the UQU.

In light of these fundamental points supporting the research movement, we look forward to a bright future for scientific research in our beloved country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
