The College of Social Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University held an introductory meeting to inform students about academic and administrative measures to enable them to follow their educational progress, and guide them to what promotes their integration in the university educational environment and facilitates the difficulties they may face. The activity was attended by His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Adnan Al-Harbi, vice deans, and the heads of the departments.

His Excellency the Dean of the College stressed the importance of consolidating ties between the college and student to achieve flexibility and clarity in the educational process, and for the student to avoid being at risk in his educational career. He urged his students to exert much effort and make use of the available resources provided by the university for them, such as labs, classrooms, and highly qualified professionals.

The Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Nasir Al-Zahrani, discussed the basic points related to the duties of the vice deanship, such as informing them about the academic advisor and the role he plays with the students. He explained the academic marking schemes related to degrees and the students' educational level. He hoped the students would revise the legal bylaws and regulations to be able to know their rights and duties during their scientific study.

The academic staff member at the college, Dr. Fahd Al-Qurashi, delivered a lecture entitled, "Life Skills", in order to positively motivate the students. He urged them to pay attention to their physical needs and their study, instead of indulging in diversions and engaging in different means of social networks without any clear aim or educational benefit, and being of no use to the student.
