The Grand Mufti of the Caucasus, Allahshükür Pashazade, stressed his country's keenness to strengthen bridges of cultural and knowledge cooperation with Umm Al-Qura University by supporting educational fields in the academic institutions in the Republic of Caucasus through the training courses organized by the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers or the enrollment of the students of the republic in the study grants programs to continue their university studies in the Shari`ah sciences and Arabic language by a distinguished constellation of university academics.
During his visit to the University City in Al-Abdiyyah, Grand Mufti Allahshükür Pashazade pointed out the roles undertaken by Saudi universities, led by UQU, in providing educational opportunities for the sons of the Muslim nation in general and the Muslims of the Republic of Caucasus in particular through its educational programs in the Arabic language sciences, Shari`ah and Islamic studies, and Da`wah and its fundamentals. He praised the efforts of the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, in supporting the Islamic institutions and commissions with advanced language and Shari`ah programs.
Allahshükür Pashazade and the accompanying delegation visited the departments of the Educational Dentistry Hospital at the UQU College of Dentistry. They were received by the UQU Vice President for Branches, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, and the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Khutani, who defined the role of the college in students' education and in providing therapeutic care for the citizens of Makkah. The delegation also visited the headquarters of Wadi Makkah Technology Company and listened to a presentation by its CEO, Dr. Faisal Al-Alaf, about the significant services provided by startups using the latest technologies and e-applications.
Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi reviewed the university's scientific, academic, research, and community roles and outlined the educational opportunities the UQU provides the people of the Islamic nation from different parts of the world. He lauded the efforts of the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers and the Colleges of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies and Arabic language, in addition to the contributions of the academic scholars in the Shari`ah specialties in serving and spreading Arabic, the language of the Qur'an.
