Saudi Postgraduate Studies Deans Hold 12th Meeting

Deans of the Saudi Postgraduate Studies held the 12th round of their meeting at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) on Thursday, Rabi' Al Awwal 2, 1438H (December 1, 2016) which was represented by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Deanship.

The meeting was themed "Contributions of Saudi Postgraduate Studies Deanships to Achieve Goals of Saudi Vision 2030". It was held at King Faisal bin Abdulaziz Hall in Al-Abdiyah.

During the meeting, Dean of the Postgraduate Studies Professor Salih bin Abdullah Al-Firaih said Saudi deans of postgraduate studies would discuss mechanisms and programs that push for the achievement of the Saudi Vision 2030 through 12 researches.

In the same context, the participants would launch initiatives, exchange ideas and look into other universities' experience to achieve the national vision.

According to the dean, the meeting's goal is to exchange views and experience in order to maximize the benefit and get a unified mechanism that meets the needs of the time and come in line with the expectations of the Saudi government.

He added that this would happen under directives of Education Minister Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Issa.

Al-Firaih underscored supportive efforts exerted by President of Umm Al Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas to maintain success of the meeting hosted by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Deanship.

Also, he thanked Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan al-Harbi for following up the preparation for the meeting and the development of scientific research system at the university.
