His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University, endorsed the results of the general assembly elections at the Saudi Hesbah Scholarly Society in his speech no. 1516/M/S dated 26 Sha`ban, 1440 A.H. The Saudi Hesbah Scholarly Society held its meeting on 19 Sha`ban, 1440 A.H., to choose the new board members for the fourth session.
Dr. Yasir Al-Qahtani was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Uthman Al-Zahrani was chosen as the Deputy Chairman, Dr. Abdullah Al-Qasim was elected as the Board Secretary, and Dr. Ibrahim Al-Bukhari was chosen as the Secretary of Finance. The vision of the Saudi Hesbah Scholarly Society is to develop the integrated institutional model of Hesbah, in its comprehensive sense, and enhance its practical application.
Through the realization of its lauded mission in the field of Hesbah, the society aims to adopt and coordinate theoretical research and applied projects in Hesbah, serving as the nexus between theoretical roots and institutionalized applications. The scientific roots, professionalism, partnership, and creativity are the key pillars of the society.
The most important work performed by the society are the following: opening active and affiliate memberships to the society, organizing a number of training courses in the field of Hesbah, publishing some books, including "Hesbah Guide in Saudi Laws and Regulations" as well as the books and manuscripts on Hesbah that have been lost, and issuing the "Hesbah Research and Studies" magazine, which will be published soon. Moreover, the society held programs and built partnerships with some members of the government sector, including the General Presidency of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the Public Security, the Directorate General of the Border Guards, and the Ministry of Health and Community Services). It also held many Ramadan competitions on social media, and promoted more than 300 designs on the jurisprudence of Hesbah, its key figures, and the relevant laws and regulations.
