Umm Al-Qura University participates in the 8th International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education (IECHE). The event will be held under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah safeguard him), at Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, from 5 to 8 Sha`ban, 1440 A.H., under the title, “Transforming Saudi Universities in an Era of Change”.
His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, said that the university's participation aims to exchange useful experiences with all the participating academic and educational institutions, lauding the generous support extended to the UQU that emphasizes the care and support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah safeguard him), and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to the educational sector. Moreover, he expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Education for the generous support, continuous guidance, and follow-up efforts furnished to the university sector in general, and the UQU in particular.
Dr. Hani Ghazi, the UQU Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship and General Supervisor of the UQU participation in the IECHE, underlined that the University's participation will include highlighting its academic, educational and research programs, its innovative educational and academic efforts, and the excellence achieved in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as showcasing the UQU graduate and postgraduate academic programs.
Furthermore, he stressed that the UQU has made all the required preparations for its participation in the IECHE, which comes as an extension of its previous successful editions, expressing his sincere appreciation for the care and support extended by His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and his keenness on enhancing the UQU participation in the IECHE.
Dr. Hisham Maghrabi, the Dean of the College of Designs and supervisor of the UQU Pavilion, said that the UQU participation in the IECHE would include organizing a pavilion designed exclusively by the College of Designs and its students, under the directions of the His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and the supervision of Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, UQU Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship and general supervisor of the UQU participation in the IECHE. The UQU Pavilion includes corners for the various UQU deanships and the different academic and research institutions. He underlined that the UQU made the required preparations earlier, and listed the participating UQU entities as including the following: the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Initiatives Management and Vision Realization Office, the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, Wadi Makkah Company for Technology, the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, the Deanship of Academic Development and Quality, the College of Designs, the Media Center, and the Public Relations and Media Department.
It is worth noting that the IECHE will be attended by more than 330 universities, representing more than 60 countries, each university demonstrating their scientific and research services. Moreover, it serves as the excellent opportunity for teaching assistants and lecturers to attend and participate in such an international platform to avail themselves of the admission opportunities to postgraduate programs offered in educational institutions.
