The College of Education Won First Place in the Volunteering Work Competition

The Vice Deanship of Scientific Research for Voluntary Research in Umm Al-Qura University launched the "Volunteering is a Life and a Journey" program, yesterday, Wednesday, 27 Rajab,1440 A.H., at Bashraheel hall in the university's headquarters in Al-Zahir. The program aims to highlight the outstanding figures of the academic staff in the field of volunteer work, and introduce the concept of volunteering and its significance in qualifying human cadres for volunteering work in the field of scientific research.

The deanship hosted the Advisor of the Vice President for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Haifaa Fida, for her leadership in delivering many volunteering efforts that contributed effectively in the service of the community, in general, and the family, in particular.

On the sidelines of the program, the colleges that won in the volunteering work competition were honored, in which the College of Education took the first place, the College of Social Sciences took the second place, and the College of Da`wah and Fundamentals of Religion took the third place.

The female students who took the first three places in the volunteering work competition were honored according to certain criteria, including the number of volunteering hours and the submitted work. The students are as follows: the student Ghalia Al-Refa`i took the first place (College of Education, Department of Islamic Education), while the second place was taken by the student Nasim Al-Sharif (College of Education, Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods), and the third place was taken by the student Nahla Muhammad Gamil (College of Education, Department of Curricula and Teaching Methods). The student Rahaf Al-Utaibi (College of Islamic Economics and Finance) was also honored for completing all the programs offered by the deanship, with the highest number of training and qualification hours.

On the other hand, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, praised the volunteering work of the Vice Deanship of Scientific Research for Voluntary Research, and the values and Prophet's guidance that are instilled among the UQU community. Meanwhile, the Vice Dean of the Vice Deanship of Scientific Research for Voluntary Research, Dr. Somaia Sharaf, said that the deanship endeavors to qualify and train the human cadres to contribute to the voluntary work, as the efforts of the deanship were crowned by the formation of the "Ghars (Planting)" voluntary team.

The program was characterized by active participation by the female vice deans of the vice deanships and colleges, the female academic staff and the female students, on top of them the UQU Vice-President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, the Vice-Dean of Scientific Research for Development, Quality, and Academic Accreditation, Dr. Hanadi Bahairi, and the female specialists in volunteering work.
