Students at the Department of Business Administration of Hajj and Umrah at the College of Business Administration paid a field visit to the Makkah Region Development Authority, which is the body responsible for the rituals train in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. This visit came within the practical applications related to the courses of transportation management and route planning for the sacred rituals. This visit was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ammar Attar on Thursday, 21 Rajab, 1440 A.H.

Students listened to a detailed explanation from Eng. Sa`id Qutb about the authority, its role in operating the rituals train, and the required operating plans for keeping pace with the great number of pilgrims. Students visited the control room where Saudi engineers control all movements of the electrical train.

Students also visited the depot area (where trains are operated, maintained and tested). There are also electrical stations in this area where trains are provided with the required energy, and closed shaded places where trains are parked, away from the sunshine. Trains are maintained periodically to be always ready for the Hajj season.

Students at the Department of Business Administration of Hajj and Umrah expressed their thanks to the affiliates of the Authority for the warm reception and their hospitality.

Moreover, the Department of Business Administration of Hajj and Umrah expresses sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Ammar Abdullah Attar for what he offers of outstanding efforts in conducting these field visits, which enhances students' abilities and skills and links theoretical knowledge with real life applications and practices used in the labor market.
