Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Emir of Makkah Province, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and in the presence of his deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, on the evening of Tuesday 26 Rajab 1440 A.H., Umm Al-Qura University will celebrate the graduation of Class 67 of the Academic Year 1439/1440 A.H. The graduation will be held in the Sports Stadium of University City in Al-Abdiyyah. More than 18,000 male and female students will graduate with the following: General Diploma, Bachelor of Science (BSc.), Postgraduate Diploma, Master's Degree (MA), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
The Deputy Emir of Makkah Province will host more than 7,600 students with various specialties and academic degrees in the presence of Excellencies, officials, parents, and guardians.
The graduation ceremony for female students will be held next Friday evening at 4:00 p.m in King Saud Hall in University City at Al-Abdiyyah.
His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, has expressed appreciation for the support of the wise leadership that the UQU enjoys. This has contributed to national graduates with high qualifications who will work to serve their country and develop it in all areas.
His Excellency also expressed appreciation for the care and attention given by the Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of Makkah province, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and his Deputy, His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz to UQU's activities and events, in its headquarters and branches in the governorates of Jamoum, Al-Leith, Adham, and Al-Qunfudhah. He wishes all his students accomplishment and success in their future careers.
The Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, asserted that female students get the required qualification and preparation in accordance with professional programs that will facilitate their involvement in the labor market, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 to empower Saudi woman.
The Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Sa`id Al-Harithi, pointed out that the postgraduate students graduating this year include 196 male and female students receiving a Higher Diploma, 575 students receiving a Master's Degree, and 125 students receiving a Doctor of Philosophy. All of these graduates represent different academic specialties.
According to the Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ghamdi, more than 17,000 graduates from Class 67 for the academic year 1439/1440 A.H. are receiving a general diploma or a bachelor's degree.
