Vice President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou participated in the preparatory session of the twenty-two meeting of the committee of the presidents and directors of the universities and institutions of higher education in the Gulf Cooperation Council Countries held at King Khalid University in Abha in the period from Muharram 29-30, 1438 H.
The meeting discussed a number of academic, scientific and research topics including activating the decision of the higher council to adopt the vision of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques regarding improving the process of joint work in the GCC Counties, the equality among GCC sons in the admission and treatment in the universities and government institutions of higher education, international cooperation, joint work committees, awards organization mechanisms, the strategic plan of cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research, besides the GCC base of information "GESR", and the Excellence Award in designing and developing the e-Courses.
Meanwhile, the UQU Vice President explained that his participation in this preparatory session is aimed at discussing with his counterparts in the GCC Countries Universities the administrative, financial, academic and research topics to consolidate the process of work and develop its mechanism in line with the plans prepared in this regard, besides discussing aspects of cooperation that serve the public interest in the Gulf region.
