The College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies, Umm Al-Qura University, granted the Deputy Chairman of the General Presidency of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice for Awareness and Guidance, Sheikh Abdul-Rahman bin Muhanna Al-Juhani, a PhD Degree with Excellence, with a recommendation to publish the thesis. The thesis tackled the juristic application for karaha tahrimiyya (legally abhorred) acts according to the Hanafi School of jurisprudence.

The Chairman of the General Presidency of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Sand, and Dr. Fahd Al-Uraini were the examiners of the thesis. Dr. Abdul-Azim Ramadan was the committee rapporteur. His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, attended the discussion that took place in King Abdulaziz Historical Support Hall.

Sheikh Al-Juhani praised the attendance of the President of the University, and appreciated the approval of the Chairman of the General Presidency of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice to discuss this thesis and to endure the burdens of the journey to attend the meeting. He also thanked the Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies Dr. Ra'id Al-Usaimi, Head of the Department of Shari`ah, and all the academic staff.

His Excellency the President of the University welcomed His Excellency Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Sanad, and congratulated Sheikh Al-Juhani for obtaining a doctorate degree. His Excellency the President of the University indicated that Umm Al-Qura University is proud of such well-qualified personnel who contribute in serving their country.
