Activities of the Fifth Scientific Forum at the Department of Biology in Al-Jamoum

Under the auspices of His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq bin Ali Al-Sharif, the Dean of Jamoum University College, the Department of Biology held the 5th Student Forum on Tuesday 16 Jumada Al-Awwal 1440 A.H. in the presence of the college vice deans, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Rifa`i and Dr. Ahmad Al-Sabhi.

His Excellency Dr. Samir bin Hasan Qari, the Head of the Department of Biology, opened the forum by welcoming the attendees. He praised the support the deanship gives to the department, as an extension of the support and attention given to the Jamoum University College by the university administration under the leadership of His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the President of Umm Al-Qura University. His Excellency Dr. Samir stressed that the department spares no effort in providing anything needed to support its students and improve their scientific and practical level to achieve the vision and mission of the department.

The Vice Dean of the College for Development and Entrepreneurship, His Excellency Dr. Ahmad bin Faisal Al-Sabhi, hailed the steady progress and development of Jamoum University College in various aspects. His Excellency also reviewed the vision and mission of the college and its strategic objectives, stressing the importance of moving ahead to complete the requirements of quality and institutional accreditation of the college. He pointed out that the Department of Biology is one of the most active departments in giving attention to indicators of quality and institutional accreditation.

The Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdul-Majeed bin Fahd Al-Rifa`i, stressed the importance of taking advantage of the available resources at the college, the need to adhere to the study plans and timetable for registration processes, and the necessity of observance of controls.

The forum included several sections, during which there was open discussion between the students of the department and members of the academic and administrative staff through which many queries were answered and a set of scientific and administrative matters of interest to students was clarified. The discussion was enriched by many suggestions from students.

At the end of the forum, the top students were honored.
