Ministry of Islamic Affairs Inaugurates Al-Mahajjah Al-Baida' Forum at Umm Al-Qura University

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da`wah and Guidance Branch in Holy Makkah launches, in collaboration with Umm Al-Qura University, Al-Mahajjah Al-Baida' [The Clear Path] Forum last Tuesday, 9 Jumada Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. This forum will last for three days at the headquarters of the Deanship of University Studies for Girls at Al-Zahir Campus.

The forum discusses a number of main topics, such as the importance of studying creed, the virtue of monotheism, dangers of polytheism and grave injustice, witchcraft, sorcery, fortune-telling, sciences of energy and the law of attraction, definition and origin of Bid`ah (innovations), and the virtue of the Prophetic Sunnah. The activities of the forum ended with a talk about trials, their meaning and types, and ways of being steadfast on the religion.

The forum is accompanied by an educative exhibition as well as competitions. Her Excellency the Dean of University Studies for Girls, Dr. Halah Al-Amoudi, a number of vice-deans of different colleges and deanships, and a number of the staff of the University and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs attended the forum.

The Forum Manager, Aishah Al-Qahtani, indicated that the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da`wah and Guidance realizes the importance of increasing awareness and intellectual horizons, and the necessity of correcting misconceptions that have spread about monotheism in social networks. The exhibition also includes debates, discussions, and fatwas to increase religious awareness and education.

The forum, for the first time, will hold a new form of competition which encourages participants to concentrate deeply on different aspects of the creed, monotheism, and a sound understanding of fatwas issued by the Council of Senior Scholars.
