UQU President Meets with the Affiliates of the University

President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri M'atooq bin Bakri Assas met yesterday Sunday Muharram 8th, 1438 H,  with the male and female affiliates of the university including members of the teaching staff and employees in the presence of the UQU Vice Presidents, Deans of the Colleges and Support Deanships and the Members of the Teaching Staff. The meeting was organized  at King Abdul-Aziz Hall in Abdyia campus and Al-Jawhara Hall at the Female-students campus simultaneously. 
 


Meanwhile, Dr. Assas stressed that the university will work on removing obstacles facing some cases related to lecturers in some specialties  for not being promoted after they have received their MSc degrees by improving their conditions according to the laws and regulations in this regard. 
 


On this occasion, he praised the unlimited support offered and still to the university by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud and his wise government, and the follow-up and support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Iesa. He explained that the university is working to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 by focusing on the transformation to the knowledge-based economy by such means of turning the scientific and research outputs of the university into products and services to contribute to the national economy.  
 


Within the same vein, he urged the members of the teaching staff to physically invest their research outputs that serve citizens and nation adding that the university is very keen to make use of its ample scientific capabilities  to make returns for the benefit of our affiliates including; members of teaching staff and students. 
 


Further, he highlighted the importance of spreading cultural awareness amongst male and female students to help them make use of the capacities and gains of the university in their scientific attainment. He lauded the efforts exerted by the UQU vice deans, college deans and all the employees for providing necessary services for students and removing all obstacles facing them and he wished success for all.   
 


For his part, the UQU Vice President, Dr. Yassir bin Sulaiman Shoushou explained that this annual meeting organized by the university vice presidency is aimed at directly checking on the requirements of the university male and female affiliates including members of the teaching staff  and employees and identifying obstacles facing them and might affect their job and educational performance. 
 


He added that scholarships will be limited to the members of the teaching staff in the next year budget in line with the decisions stipulated in this regard. He lauded the support of the UQU President and his close follow-up to whatever upgrades the educational and learning system inside the university. 
 


After that, the UQU President, Vice Presidents and College Deans responded to the inquiries of the male and female affiliates of the university.
