His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, headed a joint coordination meeting between the College of Business Administration and the Saudi Commission for Tourism at Al-Abdiyyah Campus to activate the terms of the agreement between the two sides.
The branch manager of the Saudi Commission for Tourism in Makkah, Dr. Hisham Madani; Vice-President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani Ghazi; the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Ihsan Al-Mu`taz; Vice-Deans of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sa`di and Dr. Muhammad Al-Sharif; Head of the Department of Tourism and Hotels, Dr. Ali Al-Qasim; Head of the Department of Business Administration, Dr. Sultan Al-Harbi; Chairman of the Board of Research and Archeological Studies, Dr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani; and Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Umar attended the meeting.
Prof. Bafail began the meeting by welcoming the attendees and pointing out the role played by Umm Al-Qura University through its specialized colleges and special programs in preparing the educational environment and serving students and the community with its different specializations. He also praised the university's distinguished academic staff in different specializations. Then, he welcomed the cooperation with the Saudi Commission for Tourism that will activate the terms of its agreement with the College of Business Administration.
Dr. Hani Ghazi then pointed out the importance of putting into practice the terms of this agreement according to the best operational practices and performance measurements to achieve the desired goals. The two sides sought to make their outcomes compatible with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Afterwards, the team of the College of Business Administration offered a presentation on the plan and the work mechanisms to be followed in applying the terms of the agreement.
Prof. Ihsan Al-Mu`taz praised the care and support of his Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University and the Vice-President of Development and Entrepreneurship for Umm Al-Qura University's high achievements. He also expressed appreciation for their eagerness to put into practice such agreements whose outcomes will reflect the development of the tourism sector in our precious Kingdom.
The agreement included some aspects of research cooperation and advisory studies on topics of mutual concern, the most important of which are developing programs and touristic products, promoting human resources in the tourism sector and touristic investment, and administering and developing museums.
