Within the first gathering of the competitions of the Saudi Universities Sports Federation in Taekwondo, Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Taekwondo Team won the third rank cup. The competitions were hosted by Taif University (TU) on 2nd – 4th Safar 1440H. They witnessed the participation of 92 students from 11 Saudi universities. It is worth mentioning that the first and second ranks were awarded to the teams of King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and University of Jeddah (UOJ) respectively.
During the competitions, UQU team won the gold medal by Student/ Serine Khadem Jah (+87 kg), in addition to two silver medals by Students/ Abdussamad As-Salehy (-74 kg) and Shuwaimy Al-Matrify (-54 kg). This was under the supervision of Capt. Hany Heleil Al-Matrify (the International Trainer), Capt. Muhammad Selim Haroun, as well as Mr. Abdullah Murham (Head of Sports Activities Department at the Deanship of Student Affairs).
On this occasion, Dr. Amr bin Taha As-Saqqaf, Dean of Student Affairs, extends sincere thanks and appreciation to both Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil, UQU President, and Prof. Abdulaziz bin Rashad Soroujy, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, for their continuous support for all the Deanship’s activities and programs.
