The President of UQU Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Al-Assas chaired on Tuesday Dhul-Hijjah 19, 1437 H  the 1ST  meeting of the Scientific  Council for the new academic year 1437/1438 H held at the university campus in Azizia. The meeting was attended by the UQU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi, the Secretary General of the Scientific Council, Dr. Marai Al-Shihri and a number of the members of the council. 

In the onset of the session, Dr. Assas congratulated everyone on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha. He also congratulated the new members of the council and expressed his thanks to the ex-members who have ended their tenure with the scientific council. Meanwhile, he congratulated everyone on the beginning of the new academic year and wished them all success during this year.

 
Within the same vein, Dr. Assas said  that the scientific council is reckoned the gatekeeper and the solid base of the scientific, educational and research processes. The council, he added  organizes  the academic affairs of the faculty members and the persons of similar status in this blessed university the matter which increases the responsibility shouldered by its members and must be realized by everyone.  He stressed the keenness of the council to adhere to well-known standards in promoting faculty members and achieving  the principle of justice in accordance with the laws and regulations.

   
After that, the council discussed topics on the agenda.
