Under the noble sponsorship of the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) will celebrate tomorrow evening Thursday Muharram 17, 1440 H the 88th anniversary of the Saudi National Day with the participation of about 6 thousand persons representing the university and the Makkan community. The celebration will take place in Abdyia sports stadium. 

On this occasion, the UQU President Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail appreciated the support attached by the wise leadership to the educational and academic environment lauding also the sponsorship and attention paid by the Advisor to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques, Emir of Makkah HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal to all the activities and programs of the university. "This celebration is an attempt to returning the favor to this generous country- may Allah perpetuate its security and stability- for supporting its sons to achieve the comprehensive renaissance particularly in the general and university education field", he expounded. 

 He went on to add that the 88th national day celebration which will witness participation of about 6 thousand persons from the university and Makkan community and will include several presentations and documentary films which will reflect the development and renaissance witnessed in this blessed country, may Allah protect it from all evils. He said the celebration is intended to instill values of loyalty and nationalism amongst the youth and to urge them to work diligently in their academic achievement and to contribute to the construction march of this blessed country in its bid to be placed amongst the developed countries in line with the Kingdom Vision 2030. In conclusion, he prayed to Allah to perpetuate for this country its security, stability, and prosperity.
