The 88th National Day Cultural Program witnessed the participation of Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouly, UQU Vice President for Female Students’ Affairs. The event was held on Tuesday, 15th Muharram 1440H in the presence of Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudy (Dean of the University Studies for Girls), Dr. Farida bint Muhammad Al-Ghamdy (Vice Dean of the University Studies Deanship) and Dr. Kholoud bint Saad Al-Yusuf (Vice Dean of the University Studies for Girls for Development and Educational Affairs). It was broadcast live from King Abdulaziz Hall in the University City of Abediyah (Boys Section) to Abu Al-Alaa Hall, (D) Building in Al-Zaher (Girls Section).

The ceremony started with the Saudi Royal Anthem followed by a breathtaking Quranic recitation. Then, a documentary film about King Abdulaziz’s unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was presented. This was followed by a speech by Dr. Fahd bin Ateeq Al-Maleky, Head of the Museum Department, to hail the history and achievements of the Kingdom. He said that the history of KSA achieved glories and perpetuated the spirit of Arabism and patriotism among generations.

In the same context, Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Ghamdy, UQU Vice President for Branches, spoke about the significance of celebrating the National Day to commemorate the unification of the land of the Two Holy Mosques. He also pointed out to the glorious present, i.e. the era of determination, leadership and unique achievements.

In turn, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafil wished a happy 88th National Day for HRH King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques), HRH Prince Muhammad bin Salman (the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, First Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense) (May Allah save them!), the Saudi Royal Family and all the Saudi people.

In his speech, Dr. Bafil stated that celebrating the National Day represented a precious memory deep within the Saudi people that enjoyed security and safety under the umbrella of the wise leadership. Moreover, he noted that recalling this national occasion was considered a national duty that embodied the meanings of affiliation and patriotism.

Afterwards, a lecture on the unified homeland in its 88th memory was given by both Prof. Saeed bin Omar Al Omar and Prof. Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Brahim. It is worth mentioning that the discussion was managed by Dr. Fawaz bin Ali Al-Dahas.

At the end of the event, Dr. Bafil honored all participants including the university leaders, discussion manager and the cooperating parties.
