Yesterday, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), inspected the premises of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research at the locations where pilgrimage rituals are performed in both Mina and Arafah. He was accompanied by Dr. Sami Barhamain, Dean of the Institute, and a number of officials.
Through his tour, Prof. Bafail learned about all the preparations and arrangements made by the Institute for receiving the researchers and students participating in the research studies for the 1439 AH hajj pilgrimage season. He praised the efforts exerted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research for enriching the research system in the area of hajj and umrah pilgrimage.
It is said that the Institute is going to implement, during the hajj pilgrimage season for this year, 42 ongoing programs and studies. The most prominent of these are the initiative for studying the integrated system for feeding pilgrims; the application of the Green Camp, which is considered an environment-friendly camp; controlling waste management and recycling; providing superior public health care within camps. This is in addition to other numerous studies related to reception at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah. There are also studies on the performance indicators for the facilities and services offered to pilgrims.
