(9) Scientific Papers Discuss Quick Response of First Responder in Hajj Medical & Security Personnel

The participants in the quick response to the medical and security personnel symposium in Hajj under the slogan of "We all are the First Responder" discussed 9 scientific papers. The symposium was organized by the General Administration for Medical Services at the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Security Forces Hospital in Makkah, in association with Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), represented by the College of Medicine; the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in Makkah; and Health Affairs Directorate in Makkah.  
The symposium, which was held on Monday, 2 Dhu'l Hijjah 1439 AH, at the Security Forces Hospital's hall, was attended by General Officer "Khaled bin Qarar Al-Harbi", Commander of Hajj Security Forces; Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafeel, UQU President; General Suleiman bin Abdullah Al-Omro, Director-General of the Civil Defense; Dr. Mohammed Al-Qasem, President of Saudi Red Crescent Authority; Dr. Hani Jokhdar, Deputy Minister of Public Health and General Supervisor of Hajj; Dr. Soliman Al-Sehaimi, General-Director of the General Administration for Medical Services; and a number of the security and health leaders participating in the Hajj season 1439 AH. 
Colonel Ali al-Ghamdi, Director of the Unified Security Operations Center in the Makkah (911), in his scientific paper, talked about the management and guidance of the first paramedic, regardless of their profession, from the Unified Operations Center (911). In the meantime, Dr. Hani Al-Naboulsi, Director of the General Administration of Operations in Makkah, in his research, talked about the challenges, developments and achievements of the civil defense.
In his scientific paper, Dr. Ali Al-Sherif, Dean of the Applied Sciences College and Head of Emergency Unit at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Jeddah, addressed the role of volunteers and military groups as first paramedics. Dr. Saud Al-Zaharani, Director of Infectious Diseases Control Administration in Makkah, spoke about the response of the first paramedic to the cases of infectious diseases and their protection.  
Dr. Hani Al-Moalem, Vice Dean of the UQU College of Medicine, in his scientific paper, touched on the best practices to reduce the risk of congestion, while Dr. Selim Al-Adrai, Head of Emergency Unit at Security Forces Hospital in Makkah, talked about how to make field sorting, along with its importance to the first responder. Also, Dr. Mazen Al-Shamarani, researcher at UQU's The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Institute for Hajj and Umrah Research, introduced the role of advanced technologies, preparations and emergency medical response to the responder.
Colonel Bandar Al-Jaid, from the medical services of the armed forces, also spoke about the experience of the Armed Forces Medical Services Mission in responding quickly through field hospitals and emergency camps in Hajj, while Mr. Mazen al-Ghamdi, from the Saudi Red Crescent, presented the experience of the Red Crescent as the first responder on the Hajj mission. The scientific symposium concluded with a workshop presented by the head of Emergency Unit at the Security Forces Hospital, Dr. Salim Al- Adrai, on how to sort the cases.
Dr. Soliman Al-Sehaimi said that this symposium contributed to the exchange of experiences and the presentation of scientific expertise to optimally deal with the cases of emergency or disaster situations. It included a number of speakers from the security and health sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including specialists in the security and health areas related to Hajj. 
He emphasized that the recommendations of the symposium agreed upon by the participants aim to unite efforts between the security and health sectors, and prepare appropriate scientific plans to deal with emergencies and disasters, pointing out that this symposium comes in the framework of achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership-May Allah support it- towards the Hajj and Umrah services system through cooperating to provide distinguished services to the pilgrims and in accordance with the instructions of HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee- May Allah protect him. He mentioned that his HRH has focused his attention on the health of the security men by approving the establishment of an independent department under the name of Hajj and Umrah Health Department. 
At the end of the symposium, the participants and organizers were honored.
