UQU College of Education concluded the summer training program for male and female instructors of the Ministry of Education (MOE) carried out in the period from Dhul-Qe'dah 2-27 1439 H. During this program, (44) training courses were held for MOE’s assistant directors, educational supervisors, headmasters, mentors, and teachers. The event was attended by the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail, UQU Vice Presidents, Director General of Makkah Education Department Mr. Mohamed bin Mahdi Al-Harthi, the Dean of the College of Education Dr. Ali Al-Matrafi, the College vice Deans, and the trainees involved in the program.
The ceremony started with Quranic recitation, after which the Dean of the College of Education Dr. Ali Al-Matrafi delivered speech saying; the program was launched under a strategic plan set by the College of Education towards achieving instructors' sustainable professional development and according to an executive plan supervised and supported by the UQU President in such manner which had a significant impact on achieving the sought-after objectives. He added that the executive plan of the program was implemented according to the scientific approach adopted by the supervisory committee responsible for preparation, follow-up and assessment in preparing all program's requirement including; halls, equipment, publications, tailored training packages in collaboration with all relevant parties in the university besides the highly-qualified training figures including the faculty members experts in the field of training.
Further, Dr. Al-Matrafi said the program's high turnout and the appreciation made in this regard by the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Directorate General of Makkah Education Department including; male and female instructors from all regions of the Kingdom is an indicative that the College of Education is a pioneering educational expertise house moving confidently towards achieving the university's vision and the aspirations of the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and the Heir Apparent HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz within the endeavors to contribute effectively to achieving the Kingdom Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Plan 2020. He then extended his thanks to the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail and the Ministry of Education the strategic partner of the College of Education in the field of instructor's preparation, rehabilitation and the educational research and studies and to all university departments and the General Directorate of Education in Makkah and its leadership for enriching the program.
After that, the Director General of Makkah Education Department Mr. Mohamed Al-Harthi delivered speech in which he said the instructors were so enthusiastic to participate in these courses and enrich this program together with the trainers in such manner that will serve the training programs, achieve their requirements, and upgrade their educational techniques through these programs and courses prepared by the college of education in this prestigious university. He added that the College of Education is fulfilling the noblest mission by providing this second to none training and qualification for the instructors and upgrading their skills to meet the aspirations of the wise leadership. He praised the keenness and support of the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa, the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Bafail, the Dean of the College of Education Dr. Al-Matrafi, and the Vice Deans for organizing this program.
For his part, the UQU President Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail delivered his speech in which he praised the support attached by the wise leadership to the general and university education in line with the modern renaissance, growth, and prosperity witnessed in the rein of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and the Heir Apparent HRH Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz. He added that proceeding from the Kingdom Vision 2030 and the National Transformation Program 2020, the education comes as a basic element in creating the sought-after change and keeping pace with the desired aspirations.
He noted that the role of the male and female instructors would not come to end by the conclusion of this training program but it will continue by such mean of transferring the fruits of this training to their school community and transferring their value-added expertise to their colleagues in the field. He added, "We promise to maintain our efforts in all fields related to instructor's preparation and professional development in line with our beloved country's move towards globalization and optimization of the outputs. "The partnership between the general education sector and the College of Education is vital as the college is responsible for supplying the education sector with the male and female instructors after providing them with the comprehensive academic preparation" he expounded adding that " On behalf of the UQU and its representative the College of Education, we hereby openly declare our readiness to provide you with all expertise and knowledge in the educational field and that our doors are always open to you and our faculty members will save no effort in providing you with the needed support.
Concluding his speech, Prof. Bafail lauded the Minister of Education for putting his confidence in Umm Al-Qura University represented by the College of Education to participate in this constructive project. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the College of Education Dr. Ali Al-Matrafi, the vice deans and those in charge of the training wishing all success to male and female trainees to Achieve their desires.
