Acting UQU President Receives Kenyan Ambassador

The acting UQU President, Dr. Thamir bin Hamdan Al-Harbi received at his office in the university campus in Abdyia on Wednesday Dhul-Qe'dah 14, 1437H the Ambassador of Kenya to the Kingdom, Mr. Mohamed Abadi Mahmoud. The meeting was attended by the UQU official spokesperson, Dr. Adel bin Ahmed Banaemah.  

In the beginning of the meeting, the acting UQU President welcomed the Kenyan ambassador and his accompanying delegation and lauded the ties between the two friendly countries. He briefed the ambassador on the different colleges of the university including; Shari'a, Arabic Language, Judicial studies, Da'wa besides the medical, engineering and education colleges and the Institutes such as the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers, as well as the scientific, research and community centers. He added many students  from the Islamic countries  are  currently studying in the university including 21 Kenyan students at the Ba, MSc and PhD levels.   

For his part, the Kenyan ambassador lauded the Kingdom for its generous support and the due attention it pays to knowledge and students in the Saudi universities and Kingdom's keen interest touched by students of the Islamic world in general and the Kenyan students in particular. He said that Saudi universities receive many Kenyan students in different specialties and scientific grades given the advanced scientific status of these universities.

 

Concluding the meeting, the acting UQU President, Dr. Al-Harbi presented a memorial gift to the ambassador and praised his visit to the university.
