Three UQU Colleges Obtain International Academic Accreditation

President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU),  Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas announced on Tuesday Shawal, 1437H, corresponding to July 26th 2016, that three medical colleges in the university have obtained the international academic accreditation from the German Accreditation Agency in Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS), for four of their programs including; the program of medicine and surgery in the college of medicine, the program of dental surgery in the college of dentistry,  the programs of Pharm-D and B-Pharm in the college of pharmacy. He attributed these achievements to the highly-qualified teaching staff and medical preparations available in these colleges, pointing out that the university will carry on its work through the Vice Presidency for Academic Development and Community Service to achieve criteria of academic accreditation for the other colleges based on its plan to meet standards of international academic accreditation. "Thanks to Allah in the first place for these achievements, then to the boundless support provided and still for the university by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, May Allah Protect Him, the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, the Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Second Deputy Premier, and Minister of Defense, and to the follow-up of the  Minister of Education, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al-Iesa to upgrading the educational environment in line with the aspirations and Kingdom Vision 2030", he expounded, extending his thanks to the Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hani Bin Othman Ghazi,  and all staff of the Vice Presidency for Academic Development and the Deanship of Academic Development for their efforts exerted in this regard.  
  
 
For his part, the Vice-President for Academic Development and Community Service, Dr. Hani Ghazi said that the academic accreditation of the three colleges came  in the context ambitious plan developed by the Vice Presidency for all university's colleges, enabling them to achieve criteria of academic accreditation with the follow up of the Deanship of Development and Quality. He lauded the follow up and attention of UQU President Dr. Assas and his keenness in having all university colleges obtain the international accreditation, similar to international colleges. He extended his thanks to the deanship of development and quality represented by its dean Dr. Mohamed  Thabit, the team of  consultants, the deans, heads of the departments and students of the colleges who exerted efforts as one team to achieve  those standards. 
 
Within the same vein, the Dean of Development and Quality, Dr. Mohammed Thabet, explained that the German visiting team conducted several visits to these colleges and met with the deans, heads of departments and a number of students and got briefed on their remarks, opinions and programs. After that, he said the accreditation was made according to the academic standards set by the agency for the mentioned programs. He lauded the support and keenness shown by UQU President, UQU Vice-President for academic development, Vice Deans of Academic Development and the team of the consultants, to all stages of the academic accreditation in the said colleges.
