The President of Umm Al-Qura University Prof. Abdullah Omar Bafail expressed his deep thanks, appreciation and gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud and HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul-Aziz, Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, for the noble confidence entrusted to him by the wise leadership on the occasion of designating him as the President of Umm Al-Qura University and for their generous support provided for science and education in this blessed country.  

He branded such valuable confidence as a medal of honor for him to carry on his duty in serving his country and community through this prestigious university, stressing that he will save no effort to work with his fellow UQU Vice Presidents, Deans of Colleges and Heads of departments to make Umm Al-Qura University moving towards prospects which meet hopes and aspirations of our rulers in this blessed country and their keenness to see the Saudi universities undertaking their national role and participating effectively in achieving the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030 and to work with all university sectors to achieve the sought-after national objectives.  

He also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Minister of Education Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Issa for his direct support provided for education plans in general and university plans in particular to promote their scientific, educational, research and community programs and activities. It didn't escape his notice to praise the efforts exerted by the former presidents of the university and their keenness and dedication to serve Umm Al-Qura University and its various activities and he prayed Allah to grant success for everyone to serve the nation and its citizens.
