UQU Vice President Inspects Education College and Inaugurates World Kidney Day

Dr. Sarah bint Omar Al-Khouli, the UQU Vice President for Student Affairs, inspected the building of the College of Education at Al-Zahir to make sure that the educational environment is well prepared and keeps pace with the support given by the wise leadership to provide university education as per the highest international standards. She was accompanied by Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi, the Dean of University Studies for Girls; Dr. Abeer bint Mohamed Al-Saban, the Vice Dean of the College of Education; Dr. Kawthar bint Jameel Baljon, the Vice Dean of the College of Education for the Educational Affairs and Development; Dr. Bosaina bint Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, the Vice Dean of College of Education for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research; and a number of the Deputy Heads of the Departments of the College.

During her tour, Dr. Sarah observed the working mechanism inside the college and its different departments, lauding the academic programs offered by the College. She said that the admission to the college’s program for the bachelor degree, except for the kindergarten program, will be closed during the next academic year 1439/1440H, until they are being updated to be in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, as per the related directives of the Ministry of Education.

The UQU Vice President for Student Affairs also inaugurated the awareness campaign about the kidney disease and its accompanying exhibition, which were organized by the Cultural Committee at the Deanship of University Studies for Girls with the cooperation of DaVita Kidney Care. The event was attended by Dr. Hala bint Saeed Al-Amoudi, the Dean of University Studies for Girls, and Dr. Farida bint Mohamed Al-Ghamidi, the Vice Dean of the Deanship of University Studies, at Building “D” at Al-Zahir Campus. 

Dr. Sarah lauded the awareness campaign about the kidney disease, which was organized by the Cultural Committee at the Deanship of University Studies for Girls with the cooperation of DaVita Kidney Care, highlighting that the campaign comes within the community message to the University’s branch at the girls section that gives consideration to the activities related to the public health and the awareness of them. She praised the support of Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq Assas, Umm Al-Qura University President, to the extra-curricular activities that are being organized effectively in the girls' section.

The campaign included awareness pavilions that introduced kidney diseases and the role of the therapeutic feeding, with the most important protective guidance to reduce the infection of the disease. These pavilions included measuring vital signs, medical and social consultancies, and introducing some important nutrition elements for the kidney patients through presenting the most prominent educational and preventive sides.
