President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas received the Moroccan Deputy Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Khalid Al-Samadi during his visit to the headquarters of the university in Abdyia. The Moroccan Deputy Minister was accompanied by the President of Abdelmalek Essaadi University Dr. Hozaifa Amzian, President of Sultan Moulay Slimane University Dr. AboShuaib Al-Marnari, and the Moroccan Consul General in Jeddah Mr. Ibrahim Ajouli. The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the two sides.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Assas welcomed the Moroccan Deputy Minister and his accompanying delegation and the two sides exchanged the cordial talks and discussed the brotherly ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco and the people in both countries under their wise leaderships. They also discussed aspects of cooperation between Umm Al-Qura University and the Moroccan Ministry of Education in such manner which serves the educational, academic, research and higher education fields.
Then, Dr. Assas briefed the visiting delegation about Umm Al-Qura University and its educational and scientific role for embracing the core of the higher education in the Kingdom and the region represented by the college of Sharia besides the role undertaken by the university under the directives of the wise leadership in receiving the male and female students of Muslim nation to continue their university and higher education in the Arabic Language Institute for Non-Native Speakers, College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, and College of D'awa. He also explained to the deputy minister the university's march and the qualitative leap and scientific, educational and research momentum witnessed in the reign of the Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the Heir Apparent, in addition to the university's community role in serving the nation and citizens.
For his part, the Moroccan Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Al-Samadi expressed his happiness for this visit and for meeting the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and the keenness he touched during the meeting, to open prospects of cooperation between the two sides, exchange scientific expertise between the Ministry of Education in Morocco and the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom represented by Umm Al-Qura University besides boosting scientific and educational communication between the sons of two nations. He praised the support provided by the Kingdom and its people to serve Islam and defend Muslim issues worldwide citing the generous services provided by the Kingdom for pilgrims and Umrah doers each year. He then wished for the Kingdom, its people and Umm Al-Qura University all progress and prosperity.
It should be mentioned here that the Moroccan delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Education visited earlier the Teaching Hospital of the College of Dentistry where they were received by the Dean of College of Dentistry Dr. Abdul-Aziz Khotani and the College Vice Deans. During the visit, the delegation toured the different departments and laboratories of the hospital and learned about the scientific, educational, qualification and training programs provided to students of the college. Additionally, the Moroccan delegation visited the Center of Startups at Wadi Makkah where they checked on the general outline of Wadi Makkah Technology Valley, and the electronic sensors laboratory which contains a number of modern equipment in the field of designing prototypes for innovative products, and manufacturing sensors and precise electronic circuits operated by a group of Saudi young people. They also learned about the start-ups in Wadi Makkah.
