Pharmacy College Wins 1st Award in DUPHAT 2018

The College of Pharmacy won the first Professional Posters Award in the 23rd Dubai International Pharmaceutical & Technology Conference & Exhibition 2018. This was based on the research by Dr. Abdulhasib Muhammad Hanif, Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Pharmacy. It is worth mentioning that the research was entitled, “Evaluation of Antimicrobial stewardship programs implementation and outcomes using interrupted time series analysis, in a selected hospital at Makkah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia."

The research evaluates the impact of implementing the full supervision program of the clinical practice of antibiotics in the Critical Care Department. This is to improve the desired results of using antibiotics at the best cost.

In the same context, the College participated in an introductory exhibition particularly via posters and brochures about its main programs, activities and achievements.

It is worth mentioning that the distinctive participations of Pharmacy students and staff members amounted to twenty scientific posters in the various domains of pharmaceutical research.

On this occasion, Dr. Ahmad bin Omar Babalghaith, Dean of the College, said that such event was considered one of the significant conferences that showed direct concern for the various domains of pharmacy in the Middle East. Therefore, he extended deep thanks and gratitude to all staff members and students who participated in the event. He also said that this was due to their distinction in the domain of scientific research within such diversity of participations in pharmaceutical science research from all over the world. He added that they were concerned with the representation of the College of Pharmacy in the various international conferences inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

Within this framework, thanks should be extended to Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), for his unending support and his concern to provide such a distinctive educational and research environment for all UQU affiliates.
