The Pilot on Scholarship from the Department of Civil Engineering in the field of Transport & Traffic Engineering Mr. Hassan Yousef Tayeb represented Umm Al-Qura University in the ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization Conference- ICAO-NAGP 2017- in Montreal City, Canada.
The conference intended to boost cooperation between academic and aviation institutions around the world to build new generation which will contribute to developing air transport icon and its different fields in line with standards and foundations which are compatible with safety regulations of the ICAO – International Civil Aviation Organization.
Within the events of the conference, cooperation means were discussed to start academic programs in the Saudi universities in general, and Umm Al-Qura University in particular at the level of graduate studies under the umbrella of the College of Engineering and Islamic Architecture represented by the Department of Civil Engineering, Transport & Traffic Engineering, in collaboration with world universities and domestic academics including; Prince Sultan Academy for Aviation Sciences in Jeddah.
These academic programs will include several topics such as; airport designing and planning and airports necessary services, air navigation systems, and operations management, transportation systems at the level of passengers and goods to achieve the Kingdom Vision 2030 which attaches significant concern to developing transportation means and transferring the Kingdom into a first-class world logistic center.
For his part, the Dean of Engineering College Dr. Hamza Ghulman and the Head of Civil Engineering Department Dr. Mohamed bin Hassan Alawi valued this participation and imitative which will have significant impact on raising university efficiency thanks to the support of UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas and his continuous encouragement to the students on scholarship so as to help Umm Al-Qura University to achieve excellence in all academic and scientific fields.
