UQU President Sponsors Discussion Panel Titled  Relation of Early Quran Manuscripts with the Hijazi Calligraphy

President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas sponsored the first discussion panel held today Wednesday Rabi Al-Awal 18, 1439 H at the headquarters of the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage under the theme of " Relation of Early Quran Manuscripts with the Hijazi Calligraphy ", in the presence of the Dean of the Institute Dr. Adnan bin Mohamed Al-Harthi, the Dean of College of Medicine Dr. Anmar Nassir and the members of the scientific team.   

 

Meanwhile, Dr. Adnan Al-Harthi said the discussion panel is part of the scientific and research project undertaken by the institute to study all Islamic manuscripts through the ages starting with the Quranic copies to make Umm Al-Qura university an international reference in this regard. 

 

The discussion panel reviewed some early Quranic versions after linking them to early Arabic inscriptions and writings so as to achieve a standard pattern of such writing. The discussion panel also  covered the significances the institute endeavors to implement within this scientific project in accordance with the scientific and research trends in this field at the regional and international levels.   

 

For his part, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas praised this crucial scientific and research project stressing that the project comes within the objectives of the Kingdom Vision 2030 which highlighted the importance of the civilizational and cultural heritage of this blessed country"Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" expressing his direct support to the Institute of Manuscripts and Revival of Islamic Heritage to help this project achieves its desired goals and objectives. He also lauded the efforts exerted and still by the Dean of the Institute Dr. Adnan Al-Harthi and the team taking part in this great project wishing them all every success.
