Male and female students of the first batch of Al-Qunfudhah College of Medicine started the clinical phase at South Al-Qunfudhah General Hospital under the supervision of the College Dean Dr. Osama bin Abdul-Rahman Sheikh Omar, the College Vice Dean for Hospital Affairs Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al-Katheri and the College Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Development Dr. Ibrahim Abdul-Rahim.
The clinical phase is reckoned the most important phase for the students of medicine in which they physically start to practice all details of their practical and medical life and learn how to deal with the patients, provide treatment for them and the patients requirements.
On this occasion, the Dean of the College Dr. Osama bin Sheikh Omar congratulated UQU President Dr. Barki Assas for reaching this phase lauding his continuous support to lessen all challenges facing the college to achieve the goal for which it was established represented in graduating proficient physicians who will contribute to developing health services in the region in particular and the nation in general. He also lauded support and keenness of the Director General of Health Affairs in Al-Qunfudhah Province the Specialist Shami bin Hussein Al-Ozaiqi, Director General of South Al-Qunfudhah Hospital Dr. Ibrahim Al-Gouzi, the Medical Officer Dr. Hassan Al-Taweel, Manager of Training Affairs Dr. Hamid Basudan, Dean of College of Medicine at King Abdul-Aziz University Dr. Mahmoud Shahin and all the affiliates of the Hospital for putting all capabilities of the hospital at the disposal of the college students to help them achieve the needed training.
