President of Umm Al-Qura University who serves also as the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Expansion Project Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas opened the 32nd meeting of the Technical Committee for the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Expansion Project of the Grand Mosque set to increase Mattaf's accommodation capacity with the representatives of the Ministry of Interior and the Higher Hajj Committee at King Faisal Hall at the University Campus in Abdyia.
Meanwhile, Dr. Assas lauded the efforts exerted by the wise leadership to serve the guests of the Grand Mosque and the visitors of the Prophet Mosques. He added that the contribution of the technical committee to the development of designs works, supervision of concert works and adherence to safety and professional health standards in the projects of the Grand Mosques comes in line with the directives of the wise leadership to provide the maximum safety means for the pilgrims revealing that the committee has recruited several national qualified competencies in the fields related to the committees technical, engineering and administrative works amounting to more than 200 employees.
For his part, the Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Development Projects of the Grand Mosque, Dr. Faisal Wafa said the meeting discussed work mechanism to complete a number of complementary works for the project of increasing Mattaf's accommodation capacity to be implemented during the coming year 1439 H and scheduled to start after this year's Hajj season directly. He added that a joint operating room was established with the relevant authorities during this year's Hajj season 1438 H for coordination with the meant operational parties to address any emergencies-Allah Forbids-.
Within the same vein, the Member of the Technical Committee and its official spokesperson Dr. Wael Halabi said we are continuously making use of the Mattaf's projects during the different seasons for the sake of the circumambulators and visitors of the Grand Mosque. He added that the engineers of the committee work during Hajj and Umrah seasons to ensure the safety of the areas allocated for the worshippers.
It is worth mentioning here that the meeting witnessed participation of the Assistant Director of Public Security for Hajj and Umrah Affairs Major General Saudi Al-Khilaiwi, Director of Makkah Civil Defense Major General Salim Al-Matrafi, Secretary of Hajj Central Committee, Dr. Salah Sagr, Commander of Special Forces for the Security of the Grand Mosques, Major-General Mohamed Wasl Al-Ahmadi, the Commander of Special Emergency Forces in Makkah Major General Mohamed Al-Osaimi and a number of officials from Public Security, Civil Defense and Higher Hajj Committee.
